Bothell Police: Pharmaceutical Take Back Day

On Saturday, October 28th, 2011, the Bothell Police Department will be hosting a “Pharmaceutical Take Back Day” from 9am to 2pm at the Bothell Police Department.

City of Bothell Take Back Drugs The reason for the event is so that Bothell residents can safely dispose of their old, unused narcotics. According to the Bothell Police, by safely depositing of such narcotics, it ensures the products will used by unauthorized residents, but by disposing of the narcotics the correct way, the drugs are:”less likely to contaminate water systems”.

How are these drugs disposed? They are incinerated. Makes us wonder what is better, getting the drugs possibly into our water systems or pumping it into the air for us to breath…??

Last year the City of Bothell was the #1 law-location for narcotics drop off in Snohomish County with over 440 pounds of drugs destroyed and off our streets. Personally, we feel this is a great cause and if nothing else, these drugs are off the streets.

Apparently, throughout the week you can bring in your non-illegal drugs into the Bothell Police Station, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. You are not required to give your name or address, but you are required to give your Zip Code. Mainly used tracking purposes.
